Grievance Officer
Indian law requires a company operating online platforms to name a person who is answerable for complaints, and to publish how to reach them. This page does that for Saptarang Ventures (OPC) Private Limited and for every venture the company operates.
Try the venture first. If your complaint is about an account, a listing, an order, a payment or a message on one of the ventures, that venture's own support channel will resolve it faster, because it can see the account and this office cannot. The Grievance Officer is the escalation, and is also the right first contact for anything about the company itself.
1. The officer
| Name | Manish Jagdish Thatte |
|---|---|
| Designation | Grievance Officer |
| Other office held | Sole member and sole director of the company. In a One Person Company these are the same person by construction, and saying so is more useful than implying a department that does not exist. |
| manish@saptarang.net | |
| Telephone | +91 98504 35137 |
| Hours | Monday to Friday, 10:00–18:00 IST (UTC+5:30) |
| By post | The registered office, marked for the Grievance Officer. The address is on the governance page, which is where this site keeps its statutory particulars. |
There is deliberately no separate grievance@ alias. A published address that nobody has provisioned is worse than no address at all; the mailbox above is one a person actually reads.
2. Which law this is under
This office is published under Rule 3(2)(a) of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, and under Rule 4(5) of the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020 for the ventures that sell to consumers. Where the two set different deadlines, the company applies the shorter of them — see the next section.
3. What we commit to, and by when
| Acknowledgement | Within 24 hours of receipt. |
|---|---|
| Resolution | Within 15 days of receipt. |
| If it will take longer | You are told so before the 15 days are up, with the reason and a date — rather than the deadline passing in silence. |
Twenty-four hours and fifteen days are the IT Rules, 2021 deadlines, and both are shorter than the forty-eight hours and one month allowed by the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020. Applying one timeline everywhere is simpler to keep than two, and it satisfies both.
4. What to put in a complaint
Nothing formal is required, and a complaint is never refused for being the wrong shape. These four things simply make it answerable on the first reply rather than the third:
- Which venture or site it concerns.
- The email address on the account, if there is an account.
- The order, listing or payment reference, if the complaint is about one.
- What happened, and what you want done about it.
